Reverse description As a bracteate, this coin is struck from a single die on a thin flan, producing a incuse mirror image on the reverse of the obverse design. The reverse therefore shows the cross pattée and surrounding legend in intaglio relief, with no independent design. The thin silver fabric and irregular flan edges are characteristic of this bracteate coinage tradition from the Pegau Abbey mint.
