Reverse description Incuse mirror image of the obverse, as is inherent to the bracteate technique, showing the concave impression of the pointed shield with the griffin device. The reverse surface is recessed and exhibits the characteristic concavity of single-sided hammered bracteates, with no additional design elements, legends, or mint marks visible. Surface retains areas of original silver luster with patchy green oxidation consistent with prolonged burial or extended circulation.
