| Obverse description | Bracteate penny of simple concave form, struck on a thin silver flan with a central raised boss or annulet surrounded by a plain incuse ring, enclosed within a beaded or toothed border encircling the periphery of the coin. The design is characteristic of the small anonymous hulpenning type struck at Kalmar during the reign of Magnus Eriksson, displaying the minimal decorative vocabulary typical of mid-fourteenth-century Swedish bracteate coinage. The field shows signs of irregular striking and natural patination consistent with hammered medieval silver. A single letter or initial appears in the field, serving as a mint or denomination identifier. |
