Ottokar II of Bohemia held Moravia as margrave before inheriting the Bohemian crown in 1253, and these thin single-sided strikes were produced across the transitional period when his territorial ambitions were expanding rapidly westward and southward into Austria. Bracteate coinage of this type was the dominant small-denomination currency across the Central European lands during his rule, and the fragility inherent in the fabric means survivors without cracks or edge splits are genuinely uncommon.
Cach 954 places this among the smaller module varieties of the Moravian bracteate sequence.
