| Beschrijving voorzijde | Uniface bracteate struck in thin silver. The central field features a crowned figure, likely the enthroned or standing effigy of Margrave Ottokar II, rendered in low relief characteristic of Moravian bracteate coinage of the mid-to-late 13th century. The figure appears draped and crowned, with stylized limbs extended to either side, set within a plain raised border ring that frames the sunken central motif. The design is bold and schematic, consistent with the artistic conventions of Central European bracteate production of this period. |

Ottokar II of Bohemia held the Margraviate of Moravia as part of his expanding dominion, and bracteate deniers of this period reflect the fragmented minting authority across his territories — multiple workshops operating with loose oversight produced considerable die variation within ostensibly unified issues. Cach 983 falls within the years bracketing Ottokar's ultimately fatal conflict with Rudolf of Habsburg, a rivalry that ended at the Battle on the Marchfeld in 1278, where Ottokar was killed. Production of this type ceased with that defeat.
