Ottokar II ruled Bohemia at the height of its medieval power, controlling territory stretching from the Adriatic to the Baltic at his peak — a dominance that collapsed entirely at the Battle on the Marchfeld in 1278, where he was killed fighting Rudolf of Habsburg.
