正面描述 Uniface bracteate struck on a thin, irregularly shaped silver flan with a characteristically broad, flat rim. The central device depicts a stylized frontal face or mask rendered in low relief, flanked by pellets and surmounted by what appears to be a schematic crown or headdress. Below the face, a prominent pointed element — likely a stylized heraldic motif or chin ornament — projects downward into the field. The design is typical of Bohemian bracteate coinage of the mid-thirteenth century, displaying bold, simplified forms consistent with the hammered technique of the period.

附加信息

Ottokar II came to the Bohemian throne in 1253 already controlling the Duchy of Austria, and these bracteates were struck during the early phase of his reign before his territorial ambitions pushed into Styria and Carinthia. Bohemian bracteates of this period are structurally fragile — the single-sided striking on thin planchets means edge cracks and incomplete strikes are the norm rather than the exception, and Cach 794 is no different.
