正面描述 Facing bust of a bishop in high relief, wearing a crown or mitra, set within a beaded inner circle. Flanking the bust to the left and right are the letters T and V, identifying the issuing authority. The portrait is rendered in a crude but expressive medieval hammered style typical of late medieval German bracteates. Drapery is faintly indicated at the base of the bust.

附加信息

Otto III of Hachberg held the see of Constance from 1410 until his death in 1434, a tenure bookended by institutional turbulence — his appointment came in the immediate wake of the Council of Constance's opening maneuvers, when the diocese was navigating competing papal obediences. Bracteates of this type were struck as thin single-sided pfennigs for local circulation in the Upper Rhine region, a denomination that had persisted in southwestern German ecclesiastical minting long after most secular lords abandoned the form.
