In the lower field, directly in front of the building facade, appears a prominent eight-spoke wheel, the heraldic emblem of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg. The composition is rendered in high relief in the characteristic bracteate technique, with bold, simplified modeling typical of late 12th-century Saxon die work. No legend is present. |
