| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of Duke Louis II in high relief, characteristic of the bracteate technique, with a stylized crown of pellets and arches surmounting the effigy. The figure holds a sword upright to the left and a palm branch to the right, both attributes rendered in a bold, schematic medieval style. The bust is enclosed within a raised, thick inner circle, around which nine decorative arches form an ornamental border in the field. The entire design exhibits the shallow, one-sided relief typical of South German bracteates of the late 13th century, with no legend present. |
