| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing effigy of Duke Louis II, depicted as a crowned bust with a jewelled crown adorned with pellets, rendered in the schematised Romanesque-Gothic style characteristic of Bavarian bracteate coinage. The face is shown full-front with large stylised eyes, a broad nose, and a segmented collar or necklace indicated below the chin. The bust is flanked on either side by symmetrical foliate or floral scroll elements, their voluted terminals curling outward into the field. The entire design is executed in high relief on the thin hammered silver flan, with an irregularly lobed outer border typical of bracteate production. |
