Obverse description Frontal figure of a helmeted warrior or prince standing in the central field, rendered in the schematic Romanesque style characteristic of early Polish bracteates. The figure is depicted wearing armour and holds a sword or lance in the right hand and what appears to be a shield or standard in the left hand. Small pellets and crescent-like ornaments are disposed in the field to either side of the effigy. The design is enclosed within a plain raised border, with the flan exhibiting the typical irregular, wavy edge of hammered bracteate coinage.
