| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field depicts a princely figure seated facing on a throne, rendered in the Romanesque style characteristic of early Polish medieval coinage. The enthroned ruler is shown in frontal or three-quarter pose, draped in robes, with what appears to be a sceptre or lily-tipped staff held in the right hand and a globus or orb suggested in the left. The figure is framed within a beaded inner border, with a rope-twist or cable outer border encircling the entire design. The flan is thin and irregular, as is typical of bracteate technique, with the design struck in high relief from a single die. |
