Beschrijving keerzijde As a bracteate, this coin was struck from a single die, producing an incuse mirror image on the reverse. The reverse therefore shows the negative impression of the obverse design — the stylized eagle appearing recessed and in relief reversal within the thin silver flan. The surface displays typical bracteate characteristics: irregular flan edges, uneven metal flow, and a concave profile. No separate reverse design or legend is present.

Aanvullende informatie

Leszek II ruled Inowrocław through a period of relentless fragmentation, when Kuyavia was divided and subdivided among Piast heirs to the point that individual lordships barely constituted coherent political units. His coinage reflects this instability — bracteates of this mint survive in extremely small numbers, partly because the thin single-sided flans were notoriously fragile and rarely survived circulation intact, and partly because the issuing authority itself was too marginal to sustain consistent production. At 0.21g, these are among the lightest bracteates in the Polish regional series.
