背面描述 As a bracteate, the reverse presents the incuse mirror image of the obverse design, showing the recessed impression of the lion passant and inner border. The surface is characteristically concave and unadorned, with no additional legends or devices, consistent with standard bracteate production technique of the period.

附加信息

John, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, ruled a territory whose mints were among the most prolific producers of bracteates in the mid-thirteenth century Lower Saxony region. These thin, single-sided silver pieces were struck by hammering a blank over a single die — the design pressing through to create a mirror impression on the reverse — a technique that made them fast to produce but structurally fragile, which explains the survival rate.

Attribution within the bracteate series of this period remains genuinely difficult; many types assigned to John overlap chronologically with issues of his co-ruling relatives, and die studies continue to revise earlier catalog assignments.
