The incuse impression shows the negative relief of the frontal bust and the horizontal key, characteristic of all bracteate coinage of this period and region. The reverse surface is plain and unadorned beyond the incuse impression, with an irregular, slightly concave flan profile typical of mid-thirteenth century Lower Saxon bracteate production. |
