Flanking the figure on either side are two domed Romanesque church towers with arched windows, rendered in high relief, emblematic of the Cathedral of Hildesheim. The composition is framed within a beaded inner border, with the entire design exhibiting the characteristic thin, convex fabric and bold pictorial style typical of 13th-century Lower Saxon bracteate coinage.
