| Beschrijving voorzijde | Architectural facade rendered in Romanesque style, depicting Saint Martin standing frontally within an arched gateway flanked by two towers, holding a crozier and a cross staff. Below the arch, a bust of an archbishop is shown in low relief with one hand raised toward the sky in a gesture of benediction. A tower appears to the left of the archiepiscopal bust, and a star occupies the upper right field. The composition is characteristic of mid-twelfth-century Rhenish bracteate coinage, with all design elements confined to a single obverse die, the reverse being blank by nature of the bracteate technique. |
