| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing bust of the bishop in high relief, characteristic of the bracteate technique, depicting a schematized frontal effigy wearing a crown or mitre with crenellated upper edge. The face is rendered in a bold, Romanesque stylized manner with large circular eyes and simplified facial features. Flanking the bust are two crescents and two annulets, serving as heraldic field ornaments. The central device is enclosed by a beaded inner ring, beyond which nine arched lobes form an ornamental border with pellets interspersed between each arch. No legend is present, the design relying entirely on symbolic iconography to identify the issuing bishop. |
