| Obverse description | Crowned frontal bust of Emperor Frederick II, rendered in schematic medieval style, with a crenellated crown atop the effigy. The ruler holds a lily scepter in the right hand, while a stylized tower appears to the right of the bust in the field. The design is contained within a plain inner circle surrounded by a beaded outer border, typical of South German bracteate coinage of the early thirteenth century. The relief is thin and shallow, consistent with the single-sided hammered bracteate technique. |
