| Beschrijving voorzijde | Single-sided bracteate struck in thin silver, displaying a stylized castle or fortified gateway rendered in high relief at centre, featuring a central crenellated tower flanked by two smaller turrets, each surmounted by a crown or finial. Within the archway of the gateway, a frontal human face or mask is depicted, crowned and rendered in a schematic Romanesque manner. The entire design is enclosed within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a pronounced outer beaded border following the irregular flan edge. The composition is typical of Swabian bracteate coinage of the Hohenstaufen period, conveying both civic and imperial symbolism. |
