| Obverse description | Enthroned frontal figure, interpreted as the Emperor or a royal personage, seated facing on a throne with armrests, the body rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner with clearly articulated torso and drapery folds at the lower body. The figure wears a crown surmounted by a cross patty and holds the arms slightly outstretched along the throne armrests. The design is struck in high relief characteristic of bracteate technique, with the flat incuse reverse being the mirror image of this obverse. No legend is present; the entire flan is occupied by the enthroned figure within a finely beaded or plain inner border. |
