Obverse description Single-sided bracteate displaying a stylized eagle displayed, rendered in a schematic manner characteristic of late 13th- to early 14th-century south German bracteate coinage. The bird is depicted facing, with wings spread and a globule at the head position, the tail feathers fanning downward in a foliate arrangement. A small annulet appears to the lower left of the eagle in the field. The design is contained within a plain raised border ring, the thin silver flan showing characteristic irregular edges typical of hammered bracteate production.
