| Obverse description | Frontal bust of the duke, crowned and wearing regalia, depicted in a schematic Romanesque style typical of Polish bracteates of the late 12th century. The figure is shown facing, with a simplified rendering of the face and upper body. The bust is surrounded by a circular legend reading KAZIMIRI DVX, arranged around the inner field. The inscription identifies the issuer as Duke Casimir (Casimir II the Just). The overall design is characteristic of the primitive die-cutting technique employed at the Kraków mint during this period. |
