In her right hand she holds a fleur-de-lis scepter, while her left hand is raised in a gesture of authority or blessing. The figure is rendered in the Romanesque style typical of 12th-century German bracteates, with stylized facial features and drapery folds indicated by incised lines. A circular legend in Latin characters runs around the periphery of the field, partially legible, enclosed within a beaded inner border and a plain outer rim. |
