Obverse description Two facing busts of Saints Simon and Jude depicted side by side within individual beaded nimbi, rendered in the Romanesque style characteristic of 12th-century Goslar coinage. Each bust is shown frontally with schematically rendered facial features, flanked by outstretched arms or attributes projecting laterally into the field. A small annulet appears above at the apex between the two nimbi, while a fleur-de-lis (lis) rises from below at the center base. The lower field is occupied by foliate ornamental elements, and the broad flat flan is typical of the bracteate technique, with the design appearing in high relief on the obverse and as an incuse impression on the reverse.
