正面描述 Centrally positioned arched gateway or gate structure rendered in low relief, its bevel or chamfered arch clearly delineated. Three small pellets or dots are arranged in a row above the gate, serving as a decorative or symbolic device. A cross appears below the gate in the lower field, a characteristic emblem of the Teutonic Order. The design is enclosed within a plain circular border, typical of the thin bracteate fabric. The overall style is schematic and primitive, consistent with mid-14th-century Prussian bracteate coinage of the Order.

附加信息

The Teutonic Order operated its Prussian mint system under strict internal control, issuing coinage as a sovereign territorial power rather than a feudal subordinate — a status formalized through decades of conflict with Polish and Lithuanian neighbors. These anonymous deniers, struck without a named master or grand master attribution, fall within the tenure of Winrich von Kniprode, whose long mastership from 1352 to 1382 saw the Order's territorial and financial power reach its practical ceiling before Tannenberg reversed everything.

At 0.15 g, bracteate production at this weight demanded exceptional die precision; most surviving examples show characteristic thin-flan cracking.
