The Teutonic Order's bracteate issues from this period were minted under the Grand Mastership of Dietrich von Altenburg, who oversaw a significant consolidation of the Order's Prussian territories and their administrative infrastructure. These thin, single-sided billon pieces circulated primarily in the Order's Prussian domains, where the Knights maintained tight control over local monetary supply as part of broader economic governance. At 0.22g, the flan is extraordinarily fragile — surviving examples without splits or edge losses are genuinely uncommon.
