Obverse description Centrally placed Teutonic shield bearing a plain cross dividing the shield into four quarters, with a small pellet or boss at the chief point above the cross. The shield is rendered in relief with a pointed base typical of the heraldic heater shield form. The entire device is unadorned by legend or inscription, consistent with the anonymous bracteate coinage of the Teutonic Order. The field surrounding the shield is flat and plain.

Reverse description Reverse is blank, as is characteristic of bracteate coinage produced by single-die striking. The incuse impression of the obverse shield design is faintly visible as a mirror image pressed into the thin flan, with no intentional design, legend, or device on this side.
