| Obverse description | Uniface bracteate struck on a thin silver flan with an irregularly shaped edge. The central device displays a four-fold divided shield bearing the quartered arms of Herford and Limburg, with the dexter fields showing the characteristic Herford motif and the sinister fields the Limburg lion. The entire heraldic composition is enclosed within a border of raised pellets forming a continuous circle around the inner field. |
