The feline figure is depicted with a schematic mane composed of pellets or beaded clusters, with curled tail raised. A Gothic letter 'A' appears in the lower field beneath the lion, serving as an initial denoting Duke Albert I of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. The design is contained within a plain inner border, set against the thin, uniface flan typical of bracteate technique. |
