| Beschrijving voorzijde | Within a beaded inner circle, the Brunswick lion passant to left with head turned to face the viewer, rendered in a bold, schematic style characteristic of 13th-century German bracteate coinage. Beneath the lion stands a stylised tower or gateway with crenellated battlements, serving as a heraldic emblem of the mint town. The entire composition is struck in high relief on a thin single-sided flan, with the surrounding field receding to form the typical concave bracteate profile. No legend is present. |
