Obverse description Within a raised inner circle, a bold Gothic letter V rendered in relief, flanked on each side by a single raised dot in the field. The design is characteristic of the simple heraldic or alphabetic motifs found on medieval bracteate issues of the Lower Lusatian margravate. The flan is thin and irregular, as is typical of hammered bracteate coinage of the period.
