Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of Hamelin, flanked by the divided initials Q and H in the field to left and right respectively. The date appears above the shield. The design is struck in the bracteate tradition, with the relief image visible as an incuse impression on the reverse. The overall composition is contained within a simple circular border typical of small German municipal coinage of the early seventeenth century.
