| Beschrijving voorzijde | Slim, frontal bust of an archbishop rendered in low relief, wearing a crescent-shaped mitra (mitre). Flanking the bust on either side are two crossed keys, the emblematic attributes of St. Peter and the Archbishopric of Bremen. The design is bold and stylized in the Romanesque tradition characteristic of northern German bracteates of the late 13th century. The field is otherwise plain, with no surrounding legend. |
