| Popis rubu | Three standing figures depicted in a frontal, highly stylized arrangement typical of Romanesque-influenced medieval Polish coinage. The central figure, slightly taller and more prominent, appears to hold objects in each hand, flanked by two attendant figures of similar schematic form. All three figures are rendered with globular heads, triangular bodies suggesting garments, and columnar legs with pellet feet. The hatched field provides a textured background, and isolated pellets are dispersed in the field to either side. The rim is irregular, consistent with hand-struck production. |

Bolesław II reclaimed the Polish ducal title — and eventually the royal crown, restored in 1076 after nearly a century's absence — partly through aggressive military campaigning that kept his treasury under constant strain. These deniers were struck at Kraków during a reign that ended in forced exile after his execution of Bishop Stanisław of Szczepanów in 1079, an act that turned the Polish church decisively against him and ultimately cost him the throne.
