Additional information

Bolesław II's deniers from the Kraków mint represent some of the earliest firmly attributable Polish royal coinage, issued during a reign defined by aggressive territorial expansion and repeated military campaigns into Kievan Rus. The Kraków mint was newly significant — Bolesław had shifted political gravity decisively toward Kraków from Gniezno, a realignment that these coins physically embody.

Kopicki 28 is among the more elusive varieties in this series. The dies were cut with inconsistent depth, and off-center strikes are far more common than well-centered examples.
