| Obverse description | Frontal standing figure of Duke Boleslaus III in chain mail armour and crowned helmet, rendered in the Romanesque style characteristic of early Polish medieval coinage. The duke holds a lance or spear in his right hand and a shield in his left, the shield's surface decorated with a pellet ornament. Fragmentary Latin legend BOLEZLAUS appears in the field to the left and right of the figure, the lettering crude and irregular as typical of hammered early Piast deniers. The overall composition fills the irregularly shaped flan, with details of the armour rendered through a granulated or beaded technique. |

| Reverse description | Architectural representation of a stylised Romanesque church or fortified gate of Kraków, depicted in a highly schematic manner with a prominent central tower surmounted by a cross. Two flanking towers or turrets frame the central structure, the whole rendered in bold, deeply struck relief typical of early Piast hammered coinage. The mintmark legend CRAC, referencing the city of Kraków, appears in the field. Birds or decorative elements are visible in the upper field to either side of the central tower. The composition is characteristic of the civic and ecclesiastical imagery used on Boleslaus III's deniers to assert both dynastic and religious authority. |
