| Reverse description | A stylised frontal face or mask rendered in bold relief at the centre of the field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. Radiating from the central roundel are four foliate or branch-like extensions arranged in a cross pattern, reaching toward the coin's edge and interspersed with additional decorative elements. The border of the coin shows the characteristic irregular flan edge of hammered medieval silver coinage. The overall design is consistent with Romanesque artistic conventions common to early twelfth-century Polish deniers, with the legend ADALBIBCVS (a garbled form of ADALBERTUS, referring to Saint Adalbert, patron saint of Poland) distributed in the outer field around the central motif. |
