| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized bust or head motif enclosed within a raised inner circle, surrounded by a border of crude, irregularly shaped pellets or letter-like devices arranged radially around the circumference. The design is executed in a primitive, flat relief characteristic of early Bohemian hammered coinage. The surrounding legend, heavily degenerate, consists of debased Latin letterforms that are largely illegible due to the crude die engraving and irregular flan. The overall style reflects the transitional nature of Bohemian deniers of the late tenth and early eleventh century. |
