Additional information

Boleslaus II consolidated ecclesiastical authority in Bohemia more aggressively than his father, securing the founding of the Prague bishopric in 973 — a political act that demanded a coinage capable of signaling legitimate Christian rulership to both Rome and neighboring powers. These deniers were struck at a moment when Bohemian minting was still finding its footing, drawing heavily on Ottonian models while asserting a distinct local identity.

Cach 132 is among the better-documented types in the series, though die alignment and flan preparation vary considerably across surviving specimens.
