| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized hand or branch motif enclosed within a beaded inner circle, executed in the bold, primitive relief characteristic of early Bohemian hammered coinage. The surrounding legend reads +BOLESLAVS in Latin capitals, distributed around the circumference. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the rim, consistent with hand-cut planchets of the late tenth century. Letter forms are angular and somewhat uneven, reflecting the nascent state of die-cutting craft in the Přemyslid mint. |
