Reverse description The reverse displays a triangular or church-facade architectural motif at center, interpreted as a stylized representation of a building or temple facade, enclosed within a beaded circle. This device is surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading +PRAGA CIVITAS, identifying Prague as the city of issue. The architectural symbol is rendered schematically in the crude hammered style characteristic of early Bohemian coinage. The design draws on contemporaneous German and Carolingian denier traditions. The flan shows characteristic irregularities consistent with primitive hand-striking techniques of the tenth century.
