| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field occupied by a bold, plain cross with slightly expanded terminals, dividing the field into four quadrants each filled with pellets or annulets arranged in triangular groupings, a hallmark decorative scheme of early Bohemian deniers. The legend PRAGA CIVITAS is distributed around the periphery in Latin characters, identifying the mint city of Prague. A beaded inner border frames the central cross composition, while additional ornamental elements such as stars or crosses appear in the outer marginal zone. The flan is irregular and shows the typical surface texture of a hammered silver piece struck on an unrolled blank. The reverse type follows conventions established by contemporary German and Bohemian ecclesiastical coinage of the late tenth century. |
