| Obverse description | Central field features a bold cross with globules arranged in each quadrant, forming a cross pattée-like design with three pellets per quarter, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend reads PRAGA CIVIT in retrograde or irregular Latin lettering distributed around the outer border of the flan. The design is executed in a crude but vigorous hammered style characteristic of early Bohemian medieval coinage. The irregular flan exhibits typical characteristics of tenth-century Central European deniers, with uneven edges and variable relief. The overall composition reflects the strong influence of Ottonian and Carolingian monetary traditions on early Přemyslid coinage. |
