Obverse description Depiction of a mounted knight in profile facing right, shown in a dynamic equestrian pose upon a horse rendered in relief against a flat field. The rider appears draped and holds a lance or standard, consistent with the iconography of Saint Wenceslas as a warrior-saint. The scene is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with the legend SCS VENCEZLAVS partially visible around the periphery in crude Latin lettering typical of early medieval hammered coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, characteristic of thirteenth-century Polish episcopal deniers struck by hand.
