Obverse description Diademed bust of Duke Bernard I facing left, set within a inner beaded circle. The effigy is rendered in a crude, stylized manner characteristic of Ottonian-era hammered coinage. The Latin legend BERNARDVS DVX runs around the periphery of the coin, partially visible between the inner circle and the irregular outer edge.
