| Reverse description | A plain Greek cross centered within a raised, annular inner circle, dividing the reverse field into four quadrants. A single pellet is placed in two of the angles of the cross, positioned in the horizontal quarters of the inner circle. The surrounding legend HILDENESHEM circumscribes the design, identifying the mint city of Hildesheim. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hand-struck Ottonian ecclesiastical deniers of this period. |
