Obverse description Central design featuring a patriarchal (double-barred) cross rising from a crescent or lunette at the base, the whole enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding field displays the retrograde or stylized royal legend distributed around the cross in the characteristic angular Romanesque lettering of medieval Hungarian coinage. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered issues of the period, with a beaded border visible along the outer rim.
