Obverse description Central field features a stylized royal monogram or composite symbol composed of letters and decorative elements arranged in a cross-like pattern, surrounded by scattered letter-like forms and pellets distributed across the field. The design is enclosed within a beaded outer border. The crude, angular letterforms are characteristic of early Hungarian hammered silver coinage. The overall arrangement is typical of the abstract, non-figurative style employed on Árpád-dynasty deniers of the twelfth century.
